I’m a big believer that players don’t want to play defense. Having the puck is way more fun, playing in the offensive zone is way more fun. I build a structure and habits so that the team can do just that. If you don’t work, if you don’t execute quick in the defensive zone, if you don’t slow people down through the neutral zone, you can’t be on offense.

I call our end the work zone, neutral ice the speed zone, and their end the fun zone.  I help players figure out a way to get in the fun zone. Skills make that happen and are foundation to the game, no matter what zone you are in.

I teach skills thru game situations. I believe in developing tough, thick skinned, strong skill players capable of challenging themselves to go to the next level.

I will always focus the player to achieve good grades and character which I believe is the foundation to be recruited.  Ultimately, it is my goal to help each player move up a level each year no matter where they start, from Squirt, thru Junior and right to College.
